It is certainly a good point and I can well believe this could have been the downfall of past civilisations, but we have the technological capability already to cope if this was a widescale problem. Examples are ramping up industrial production of fertilisers and we already have the machinery to spread it on the land, [http://verticalfarm.com/ vertical farming], {{wp|hydroponics|hydroponics}} and {{wp|Mariculture|mariculture}}.

It is certainly a good point and I can well believe this could have been the downfall of past civilisations, but we have the technological capability already to cope if this was a widescale problem. Examples are ramping up industrial production of fertilisers and we already have the machinery to spread it on the land, vertical farming, hydroponics 11px-Wikipedia_logo.jpg and mariculture 11px-Wikipedia_logo.jpg.
