- Satisfaction that other people can benefit from their efforts
- Objects and machines can be customised exactly how individuals or groups want them
- Other people can evolve your design further, which may benefits you
- The concept of 'copyleft' changes the way people think about to contributing to creative open projects as these contributions are for the benefit for everyone and anyone
- Respect from creating great designs that becomes widely used
