Colonising Space/Leaving earth with the right attitude

If mankind colonises space using a programme based on open-source-style collaboration, it would set a great example to the future generations who live off-Earth in terms of co-operation and sharing resources. It should help to reduce the chances of overtly self-serving forms of commercialism taking root and promote a peaceful.......and inter-societal conflict over resources taking root in the pioneering cultures
