It is certainly a good point and I can well believe this could have been the downfall of past civilisations, but we have the technological capability already to cope if this was a widescale problem. Soil erosion
Removed entry about soil erosion.

It is certainly a good point and I can well believe this could have been the downfall of past civilisations, but we have the technological capability already to cope if this was a widescale problem. Examples are ramping up industrial production of fertilisers and we already have the machinery to spread it on the land, vertical farming, hydroponics and mariculture .
