We are still nowhere near the height of human civilisation. Not even close.

Our present culture is conditioned by centuries of scarcity which with our current technology should no longer exist, but does so due to a lack of co-operation, self-interest, bureaucracy, short-term thinking and in no small part, monetary economics. However, automation and AI are becoming ever-more sophisticated, steadily climbing the human career ladder and we continue to develop increasingly efficient ways of co-operating and sharing knowledge openly with each other.

So a new fluid grouping of minds is evolving that is adhoc, distributed, self-organising and yet far more effective than anything we have seen before. These peer-to-peer activities combined with advanced automation have the capability to remove any significant scarcity for mankind. It is the new enlightenment, and in some areas (notably software and knowledge gathering) it is well under way.

This website explores the emerging technological and social possibilities, focusing on concepts that are likely to take us on to the next phase of civilisation — an environmentally sympathetic post-scarcity age where knowledge is freely shared by all. It sounds almost too good to be possible, but if enough people want it to happen, it is absolutely within our reach.

This new world is coming at an extremely fast pace, so you might want to prepare yourself... (or perhaps join in).
