Version C

We are still nowhere near the height of human civilisation. Not even close. We are experienceing a rapidly changing transition period between eras. Our present thinking is conditioned by centuries of scarcity which for the most part no longer actually exists, automation and AI get ever more sophisticated steadily climbing the human career ladder, and we are still learning about new and ever-more efficient ways of co-operating and sharing knowledge with each other.

We are developing a new fluid grouping of minds that are adhoc, distributed, self-organising and yet immensely effective, vastly more powerful than anything we have seen before. These peer-to-peer activities combined with advanced automation have the capability to remove any significant scarcity for mankind. It is the new enlightenment, and in some areas it is well under way.

This website explores the emerging technological and social possibilities, focusing on concepts taking us to the next phase of civilisation: an environmentally sympathetic post-scarcity age and all that follows.

This new world is coming at an extremely rapid pace, so you might want to prepare yourself...

Version B

We are still nowhere near the height of human civilisation. Not even close. Our thinking is conditioned by centuries of scarcity and we are holding on to old methods and institutions when far better concepts have emerged. The problem is fantastic new paradigms appear almost faster than we can assimilate them into our lives, and for our culture to adjust to them.

Version A

We are still nowhere near the potential height of human civilisation. Here we aim to look at the next steps, and show how it will be based on a new fluid grouping of minds and everything that can achieve. These groups will be adhoc, distributed, self-organising and yet immensely effective.

People will be self-selecting in their roles and motivated directly by their own need for a better solution. It will feel like a much more natural and sensible way of working for those involved, compared to the current situation of unnecessary complexity, duplication of effort and indirect motivation. It will also be vastly more powerful than anything we have seen before.

People will be able to work on what interests them and because these activities are open and transparent, in order to benefit as many people as possible, others are willing to join in and help too. It is the new enlightenment, and in some disciplines it is well under way.

These peer-to-peer activities combined with modern technologies have the capability to enable a world of post-scarcity and the resultant post-materialism. It will be a method by which we can more sensibly direct our progress and will be better not only for us but also the natural world. This new world is coming at an extremely rapid pace, so you might want to prepare yourself...
