Hi Balatro,
Welcome to AdCiv!
Many thanks for your recent contributions. I haven't had a chance to look through all of them yet, but I certainly look forward to doing so. Anyway, I am glad you have found AdCiv and your contributions here are certainly much appreciated.
If you feel like it, do contact me at and tell me some more about yourself.
Thanks again,
-- Charles.

Thanks as usual for the recent edits. I took out a couple of things on the energy I wasn't sure about (no problem adding back in if there's good evidence for it though). Vertical axis turbines are pretty interesting and have some advantages but I'm not sure if efficiency is one of them see here.
Also with the maglev turbines, I'm not sure it is clear that any advantages would outweigh the added complexity (again, interesting but unproven!).
Not particularly related to anything above, it got me thinking that I ought to write somewhere some general guidelines for AdCiv content. Up until now nearly all of it has been mine, so I should probably try and externalise some of the central philosophies. I'll try and add them to AdCiv:About.
Cheers, -- Charles.

Zero point
Hope you don't mind Balatro, but I removed the reference to zero point energy as I want this site to be clearly about concepts to help engineer post-scarcity using current engineering and science know-how. As by definition zero-point energy is the minimum energy ground state it would be impossible to harness, as currently understood by science.
BTW here is one of the few energy projects I have heard about recently that is thinking big enough and using principles of totally scalable automation to create solar power plants on an undreamed-of scale. This is exactly the kind of thing we need to create! http://www.gizmag.com/sahara-solar-breeder-project/17054/ --CharlesC 01:31, 29 January 2011 (CET)
